About MasterFix HVAC Repair Service
MasterFix HVAC Repair Service repairs heating and cooling systems for homes in and around San Jose. Our approach is simple: find out what is actually wrong, explain it in plain terms, and give you clear options so you can decide what makes sense for your home and budget. When a system quits at a bad time, we offer 24/7 emergency service.
How we approach a repair
Every service call starts with a diagnosis, not a sales pitch. We check how the system is running, trace the problem to its cause, and tell you what we found before any work begins. If a repair will get a furnace, air conditioner, or heat pump running reliably again, that is usually where we start.
When a repair no longer makes sense, we say so and explain why. That might be the age of the equipment, the cost of the parts involved, or a problem likely to come back. You get the information and the choice is yours.
- Diagnose the cause before recommending a fix
- Explain findings in plain language
- Lay out repair and replacement options side by side
- 24/7 emergency service when heating or cooling fails
Built around South Bay homes
The Santa Clara Valley has dry summers and mild, damp winters, and the inland and southern parts of the valley run noticeably hotter in summer than areas near the Bay. That means air conditioners in some neighborhoods work much harder than others, and heating systems often sit idle for months before the first cold night. We keep those patterns in mind when we look at why a system failed and what will keep it running.
Clear answers on rules and incentives
Bay Area homeowners hear a lot about new appliance rules, and much of it is confusing. The Bay Area Air District rules do not require you to replace equipment that is working. They apply only when an existing furnace or water heater fails or is replaced. Under the furnace rule, natural gas furnaces manufactured from 2029 must meet a zero-NOx standard, which in practice points homeowners toward heat pumps for replacements after that date. The zero-NOx date for small water heaters was set for 2027, but the Air District Board is considering changes in November 2026 that could delay it, so it is worth checking the current rule before planning a water heater replacement.
On incentives, we stick to what is current. The federal Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit covered qualifying heat pumps placed in service before December 31, 2025, and it is not available for new installations after that. BayREN and local clean energy providers may offer heat pump and electrification incentives, but amounts and availability change by funding cycle, so we confirm the current offer before including it in any quote.
